The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has pledged to resolve outstanding welfare and payment challenges affecting teacher trainees, following a high-level engagement with the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG).

At the meeting, the SLTF assured TTAG of its commitment to clearing all arrears related to trainee allowances that have accumulated over time. The Fund further announced plans to transition the current allowance payment system to a mobile money platform to enhance efficiency and accessibility.

According to the SLTF, the proposed mobile money payment system is expected to reduce delays, improve transparency, and ensure timely disbursement of allowances to teacher trainees across the country.
The leadership of TTAG welcomed the assurances and expressed optimism that the measures, once fully implemented, will significantly improve the welfare and financial security of teacher trainees nationwide.
