The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) in the Ashanti Region has begun locking up shops found selling substandard and counterfeit baby diapers as part of an ongoing enforcement excercise to safeguard public health.
This latest action follows earlier intelligence-led operations during which large quantities of unapproved and expired diapers were seized from the market.

Laboratory tests conducted on the confiscated products revealed that they failed to meet safety standards and posed serious health riskd to infants.
The FDA stressed that the exercise is part of its sustained campaign to eliminate harmful baby care products from circulation and ensure that offending traders are held accountable.
