The Ministry of Health wishes to update the public on ongoing efforts regarding the payment of nurses’ salaries and the posting of newly recruited medical officers.

1. The Ministry is pleased to announce that more than 6,000 newly recruited nurses have successfully received their salaries, covering the full cohort of 13,500 nurses employed nationwide. The Ministry assures all stakeholders that all remaining administrative processes will be addressed promptly.
2. The Ministry commends all newly posted medical officers who have reported to their designated duty stations and acknowledges their commitment to serving the nation.
3. Medical officers who have not yet reported are kindly reminded to do so by Friday, 12th December 2025. This extended deadline aims to ensure that all officers have sufficient time to report, as part of ongoing efforts to achieve an equitable distribution of healthcare personnel across the country.
4. The Ministry reiterates that postings are not punitive, but rather an essential mechanism for ensuring fair and balanced deployment of health professionals nationwide.

5. Families and relatives of newly posted medical officers are encouraged to support them as they settle into their assigned posts—particularly those in underserved and hard-to-reach areas.
6. The Ministry reaffirms its commitment to collaborating with stakeholders to provide incentives for officers posted to rural and underserved communities, in line with the Ministry’s Human Resource Posting Guidelines.
7. In this regard, the Ministry urges Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to offer key incentives—including accommodation, transport assistance, and basic amenities—to help attract and retain medical officers and other health professionals within their districts.
