Latest Update on Agradaa’s Court Cases – July 2025

Ghanaian evangelist and controversial figure, Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, is currently facing serious legal issues involving both a defamation suit and a fraud conviction.

1. Defamation Case with Empress Gifty

In May 2025, Nana Agradaa went live on social media and made defamatory remarks about popular gospel singer, Empress Gifty. She accused the musician of immoral behavior, including having affairs with pastors. In response, Empress Gifty filed a defamation lawsuit on May 20, demanding GH₵20 million in damages and a retraction of the statements.

During the first court hearing on June 11, Agradaa appeared in court, but her lawyers were absent. This led the judge to fine her GH₵6,000 for wasting the court’s time. The court also placed a temporary injunction on her, preventing her from making further comments about the issue.

A second court hearing was scheduled for June 26, but again her legal team failed to show up. As a result, the fine remained, and the case was adjourned to July 16, 2025.

2. Conviction for Money Doubling Fraud

In a separate case, Nana Agradaa has been convicted by the Accra Circuit Court for defrauding members of the public. This case stems from a 2022 incident where she advertised on TV that she could double people’s money during her church service. Many victims came forward claiming they were deceived and lost money.

On July 3, 2025, the court found her guilty of “charlatanic advertisement” and “defrauding by false pretence.” The court has delayed her sentencing to conduct a pregnancy test, which will influence the final judgment.

Summary
