NIA Responds to Viral TikTok Extortion Allegations
The National Identification Authority (NIA) has issued an official public notice responding to allegations made in a viral TikTok video. In the video, an individual popularly known as “Sefwi Biggest Trapper” claimed that some NIA officials at the Bono Premium Centre extorted money from him and other applicants.
NIA’s Response to the Allegations
The NIA firmly condemned the individual’s conduct, stating that his unruly behaviour on 11th November 2025 created unnecessary disruptions and posed risks to other applicants at the centre. Despite this, the Authority emphasized its strong stance against extortion and any form of misconduct by staff.

The NIA encouraged the complainant to submit any evidence he may have to support the investigation and assured the public that disciplinary and legal action will be taken against any staff found culpable.
