NCCE Issues Public Disclaimer on Fake Recruitment Notices
Prepared by Priority Consult •
The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) alerts the public to a fraudulent recruitment publication circulating online. One such item falsely cites an application page at ghstudents.com/ncce-ghana-recruitment and claims there is an ongoing NCCE intake for the 2025/2026 period. This is not true.
“The NCCE wishes to state categorically that it has not announced any such recruitment exercise. The said publication is false and should be disregarded.”
Scam recruitment posts are designed to harvest personal data, collect unlawful fees, or obtain copies of sensitive documents. Falling for such schemes can lead to identity theft, financial loss, and long-term privacy risks.
“Members of the public are cautioned not to engage with or provide any personal information, documentation, or money to such fraudulent sources.”
How to Verify Any NCCE Recruitment Announcement
- Go to official channels first. Check the NCCE’s official website and verified social media before acting on any advert.
- Watch for fee requests. Legitimate public-sector recruitment does not demand payment for forms, processing, or placement.
- Inspect the URL and contact details. Fake pages often use look-alike domains, spelling errors, or generic emails.
- Cross-check with credible media. Confirm announcements in reputable news outlets before submitting information.
- Guard your documents. Never share passport, national ID, or academic certificates unless you’ve verified the request.
- Report suspicious posts. Alert the appropriate authorities and platform admins to help protect others.
What To Do If You Already Engaged a Fake Post
- Stop further contact and keep copies of messages, receipts, and links as evidence.
- Report immediately to law enforcement/cybercrime units and the NCCE.
- Protect your identity: change passwords, enable 2-factor authentication, and monitor for unusual account activity.
- Notify your bank if you sent money or card details; request reversal or blocking as advised.
Call for Vigilance
“The Commission advises the general public to be vigilant and report such fraudulent activities to the appropriate authorities.”
